WARNING! Professor Layton 3 MAJOR SPOILERS!
Luke stared through the bars at me. "Gah...!" I screamed. "S-stop staring at me with those big eyes, you... little boy!" Layton pulled Luke back from the bars. I hid my tearstained face in my hands. My eyes were once again wide with madness, red from staying up at night trying to plan a revenge. Layton and Luke had felt it was their responsibility to visit me every now and then in the jail, but seeing them only made me long more for the outside world. Layton had hoped that after my years in jail, I would come out a changed boy, the mad fire in my heart long gone. But that was not to be. Being locked up only made that fire brighter, longing to be free and exact revenge on Bill Hawks and that bumbling police officer who'd locked me up. I was terribly afraid. I knew what would happen when I was released from jail in two days. I would try to get revenge, and I would be caught... and then I would have to suffer longer in this dap, moldy cell. I clung to the bars. "L-Layton, Luke, please! I-if they let me out... if they let me out, I... I will seek revenge! I know it! By releasing me, they would be sealing their own fate! They'd catch me as I tried to get revenge! I don't want to spend any more time here..." I said. Layton looked at me through the bars. "What are you talking about?" He asked. I pulled my hands away from my face. One look at my wide, red eyes, infected with madness, and he knew. "If they release me, I will seek revenge on Bill hawks and Inspector Chelmey for locking me away. I know they hoped that locking me away would douse the fire of madness growing inside me... but locking me up has only made that fire grow stronger. If they release me now, I will try to kill them!" A look of understanding passed between Layton and Luke. "I understand, Clive. But you're really willing to sacrifice your freedom to save them?" Layton asked. "Yes..." I said. "I don't want to stay behind bars any longer, but if it's the only way to keep London safe, then I will dig out. Then I'll run away, far away. I'll live somewhere far off, and I'll never return. At least they'll be safe... but if they came and let me out personally, I'd murder them on the spot! I wouldn't make it a foot before being caught..." I walked away and sat on the hard wooden bench, my face hidden in my knes, my arms wrapped around my legs like they were the only things I could rely on anymore. I heard soft footsteps as Layton and Luke walked away, then all was silent.
LATER THAT NIGHT...
I pulled out my shovel. There was a hole in the ground where others had obviously tried to dig out. I myself had worked at it for nights now, and I had only a bit farther to go until I was free. Slowly, I dug through the damp soil. I tunneled upward... andmy shovel poked free. I burst upward. Free. Hungry, tired, sad, and dirty, but still free. I shook violently for a moment, looking for all the world as if I were having a seizure, fighting the urge to turn around, walk back in, and kill Chelmey. All of a sudden, I heard familiar voices. "You can always start over, try to repair the damage you've done." Claire's voice. "He's not the only one responsible! You do know that, don't you, Layton?" I shuddered. She was dead. I had done so much to her, and she'd saved my life. "It will be all right..." Layton's voice, the day he'd comforted me after the loss of my parents. I opened my eyes. "Yes.." I mumbled. "It will be okay." And with those words, I took off running. Where was I going? Not even I knew... where would I end up?

A Shadow X Vio Oneshot
For the Four Swords Fanfic Club Valentine's Day Contest
Love does not happen instantly, at first sight- like many may think. What many believe to be 'love at first sight' is simply a chemical attraction that happens when one person encounters another whom they believe to be attractive. 'Lust' is a more appropriate term for this chemical reaction, and it can happen every day. But sometimes, what begins as lust can turn into love- but only with time, patience and determination.
All of which Shadow had in great amounts.
"Shadow, go away," Vio told him flat out, not looking up from his book. "I told you- I do not c

My first try at writing something in a first-person perspective... Clive Dove's POV, obviously... my favorite character from Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. The ending was so awesome...! This was the best Layton game yet, in my opinion... but then again, I thought that about Diabolical Box, too...
I actually think this turned out pretty good... I appreciate all opinions and comments, though...
Clive/Legal!Luke, Luke, Layton, Bill Hawks, Claire, and Chelmey (c) Nintendo and Level-5
This short fan-fic (c) ME!!!!
P.S. this, obviously, takes place sometime after Unwound Future.

Poor, poor Clive... To me, it seems he's always been struggling ever since the time that his parents passed away... Very well written!
